The Elly Chovel Scholarship
The Board of Directors of Operation Pedro Pan Group is pleased to
announce that we are currently accepting applications from college students
that would like to be considered for the
Elly Chovel Scholarship
for the 2008-2009 college year
There
will be 2 scholarships awarded of $1,500 each, funded by a generous gift from the Green Family
Foundation to honor the
memory of Elly Chovel.
Application
period – 7/12/08 to 8/17/08
Selection
will be announced by 9/8/08
These
are the requirements:
Children
and/or grandchildren of Pedro Pans
Enrollment in
an accredited college or university for the
2008-2009
school year
3.0 minimum GPA
SAT or
similar college admissions test
Community service
volunteer time
Answer question: Why do I deserve the scholarship?
If you are a Pedro Pan and have a child/grandchild that
meets above requirements and would like to apply for the scholarship, please
reply to this note as soon as possible and provide your name/address, name of
your child/grandchild, and college/university enrolled in 2008-2009.
We
will then send you the scholarship application form.

join us for our next breakfast.
Bring
your ideas and suggestions. At our
monthly breakfasts we will continue to have open discussions for everyone to
share their views and ideas about how to achieve our organization’s mission:
(1) help needy children, (2) get more Pedro
Pans together and
(3)
document the history of the Pedro Pan exodus.
This
will be a very enjoyable get-together,
don’t miss it!
